The word “spring” has taken on a new meaning here in MinneSnowta. Think I’ll cry myself to sleep tonight.
I love music. And all its surprises and wonder and seemingly magical powers. This Yo La Tengo song, from 2006’s I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass, is so nostalgic. Even though I haven’t listened to this song in years, it takes me straight back to freshman year of college. Through an attempt at torturing myself, I would play it when I especially missed my family and Minneapolis. Now that I’m back, I can’t help but smile when I listen to this and feel content. I am home.
It’s a beautiful song, with or without a strong memory or emotion attached to it. Give it a listen.
Gorgeous cities captured over a ten hour span.
Stephen Wilkes is a guy with some serious patience. He photographs the same spot for a minimum of ten hours! The goal is to capture the transformation of a selected area from day to night.
This is a little late but Sleigh Bells played my favorite show at First Ave this year on Friday night. Alexis surfed the crowd during “Rill Rill” and I got a pretty neat video. Enjoy!
